Special Edition: Frances Online unavailable starting 5 p.m. February 28 - 02/01/2024

Frances Online will be offline from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, until 8 a.m. on Monday, March 4. We understand this may cause an inconvenience. We are doing everything we can to make this process as easy as possible.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Frances Online will be unavailable from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28 until 8 a.m. on Monday, March 4. It is going down so that Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits can migrate to this modernized system.
  • You won’t be able to check your claim status, update claim information, or access Frances Online between 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28 and 8 a.m. on Monday, March 4.

Intermittent claims:

The due date to file for Paid Leave weekly benefits on an intermittent claim for February 18-24 is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28. If customers with intermittent claims don’t file for their weekly benefits by this date, their benefits for that week will be delayed. They will need to wait until Frances Online is available again at 8 a.m. Monday, March 4.

For weekly benefits on an intermittent claim for February 25-March 2, customers will have to wait to file until 8 a.m. on Monday, March 4.

  • Customer service for Paid Leave will be unavailable during the migration.
    • Paid Leave phone lines will be unavailable from Wednesday, February 28, through Friday, March 1.

We will use Wednesday to process as many claims as possible before Frances Online shuts down.

Because our staff will not have access to customer information on Thursday and Friday, our staff will instead attend additional training on how to use Frances Online and work more efficiently.

  • Our online Contact Us form will also be unavailable from 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, until 8 a.m. Monday, March 4.
  • The new claim-by-phone system for intermittent claims will be unavailable from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, until 8 a.m. on Monday, March 4.
  • Staff at the Oregon Employment Department (OED) central office in Salem and WorkSource Oregon centers will not be able to answer specific questions about Paid Leave Oregon claims.

As with any big technology project, there may be issues that arise during the migration. We are planning for this and are committed to communicating early and often. We encourage you to review all messages from the Oregon Employment Department in the coming weeks and visit paidleave.oregon.gov and follow us on social media on Instagram, X, Facebook, or LinkedIn for important updates about the migration.
